Novelty Shapes

We launched brand-new novelty enclosure card shapes in 2026. Please see below for specific tips & tricks to keep in mind when preparing final files for these shapes!

PREPARING YOUR FILE

Front

Front: Use case copy (see the use case guide below for specific Use Cases by size) can go on the front of the card. If your design is illustration-only, there will be a text box on the back so that customers can add their own text. We are providing shape templates as both single shapes and sets of shapes. Please refer to your file request for specific details on what shapes we're requesting. Some shapes are available in both A2 and mini sizes. Please carefully check your file request for which size we are requesting. Some A2 shapes are available in portrait and landscape. Please use only one orientation. Shapes are only available in non-foil. Please do not add foil or letterpress elements. Design featured is Mirin by Kate Ahn

Backer

Pattern backers: When submitting final files, please submit a patterned backer with no text. There will be canned text options available for customers. Similar to other Minted product types, customers will be able to choose from a white backer, a solid color backer, and a pattern backer. Placement art backers: If the front of your design is text based - your backer doesn't need to be a "pattern.” You are able to submit a backer that is illustrative as well (ie looks like a flower) Borders on backers: For A2: The front border safety from artboard to border is .25” and the backer is .3” from artboard to border. For Mini Enclosures: no backer borders, given the small space and only pattern backers are allowed. These guidelines are in place to avoid reprints and keep the quality of your designs intact when trimmed, especially with high order volumes! We've been testing these already with repurposes and will continue to monitor/update guidance if necessary.
