How much will I be paid for my winning design?

Minted pays an upfront cash prize payment in addition to ongoing sales commissions for each Challenge-winning design. We pay Top-Rated and Editors' Pick prize payments — the prizes differ by Challenge and the prize structure can be found on each Challenge page and PDF (go to www.minted.com/contest, click on a specific Challenge, click “Download Challenge Kit”, and open the Challenge Description PDF), and in our Challenge winner announcement emails.

Editors' Pick Prizes

The Editors’ Pick Prize amount you will receive for your winning design depends on the number of final files you choose to submit. We classify each file as “required,” “recommended,” or “optional” and you can choose your overall time commitment and payment amount through these options. For example:

• If you only submit the “required” files, you would receive the base Editors’ Pick Prize of $100. 
• If you submit the “required” and “recommended” files, you would receive $150 (base Editors’ Pick Prize of $100 + $50 for recommended files)
• There is no upfront prize payment for completing optional files, but you will receive ongoing sales commission on any products sold that wholly incorporate your design.

Top-Rated Prizes

Top-Rated designs, as voted by the community, receive the full Top-Rated prize if you submit the required files only. Top-Rated designs receive the full Top-Rated prize + additional payment for recommended files if you submit both the required & recommended files. For example: 

• If the Top-Rated Prize is $1,000 and you submit required files only, you would receive $1,000.
• If the Top-Rated Prize is $1,000 and you submit required & recommended files, you would receive the Top-Rated Prize payment ($1,000) + the additional payment for recommended files ($50) for a total payment of $1,050.

Special Prizes

In addition to Top-Rated and Editors' Pick payments, Minted chooses Special Prizes among the winning designs. Special Prize winners are announced approximately 30 days after the winners are announced for each Challenge.

NEW! We've updated our Special Prize payment structure as of December 2021. Now, all designs that are awarded a Special Prize receive the full Special Prize amount, in addition to the Top-Rated or Editors' Pick prize amount previously received. 

All winners also receive ongoing commission payments on the sales of winning designs once they've been launched to our site. Learn more about commission payments here.

Artists will be paid through our artist payment system, Payoneer within 90 days of submitting their final winning design files.
