How do prize payments work?

We classify each file as “required" or “optional”. You can choose your overall time commitment through these options.

• Required: Required files are the minimum files that must be submitted in order to receive the base Editors’ Pick Prize payment.
• Optional: Optional files are generally accessories or additional colorways that you will not receive an upfront prize payment for completing, but you will receive ongoing sales commission on any products sold that wholly incorporate your design.

Artists who want a lower overall time commitment can choose to produce only the "required" files. Artists who want to maximize their sales opportunity can choose to also produce the "optional" files.
