What happens after I submit my files?

Once you submit your final design files, our team begins the process of launching your design on Minted.com. This typically takes about one month, depending on seasonality and how many other assortments the production team is working on at once. It takes time to carefully test and launch all winning designs. We prioritize working on launches largely based on seasonal deadlines (for example, launching Minted New Year cards in time for the New Year selling season) and in the order in which we received your files. We always do our best to keep the community updated on our launch progress via our Weekly Updates every Monday.

TIPS TO PREVENT LAUNCH DELAYS

All raster images and photos are embedded

Check this by opening your Links panel. If all images are embedded, you’ll see a small graphic icon next to it. If any are not embedded, select the artwork and select “Embed Image(s)” in the upper right dropdown.

Font info is included in the “Required Font Info” section

Lack of font information will require our team to research/identify the font used and investigate licensing requirements, further delaying launch of your design. Providing a suggested alternate is also crucial in case we do not receive a timely response from the font foundry, and need to replace in order to optimize sales of your design for the selling season.

NOTE! If your design uses glyphs in any editable text, please ensure an outlined version is also included in the font info area. It’s common for fonts with various versions to have differing glyphs, so by having an outlined version we can make sure we launch correctly.

All required files are included

Check your file request for a list of the required files. Make sure these are all included for each colorway you submit to avoid needing to resubmit later on!

Elements are on correct layers

Pay extra close attention to any foil elements if your design is foil-pressed – our printers require a specific setup to create foil dies, so ensure foil elements are set up correctly and on the FOIL layer. See our Foil File Prep FAQs for more info.

Files are saved down to CS6 (or earlier)

Our launch tooling requires that files are saved down to CS6 or earlier.

Working in CC? Change the dropdown to CS6 when saving your files!

COMMON REASONS FOR DELAYS

• Design change notifications from our Merchandising Team to ensure designs meet technical requirements.
• Missing files or embedded images/photos in your submitted files.
• Foil, Gloss, and Letterpress designs may experience longer launch times due to the added step of creating and ordering dies for production.

IMPORTANT: Please do not self-launch any of your winning entries! All winning designs will be displayed on their respective Minted category pages and therefore must be launched internally to ensure they meet Minted’s web and print standards.
