We do our best to license as many new fonts as possible to keep our font library fresh, but there are times when Minted is unable to license certain fonts. Because of this, if you submit final files using a font that is on our Cannot License List, or a font that isn't yet on our Minted Font List, you are REQUIRED to fill out the info below in your file request template.
We will reach back out requesting a swap if you do not fill in this info for a non-Minted font, and it will hold up production for your design while we wait for this information.
Including this information is important for 2 main reasons:
- Including suggested swaps allows your design to move more quickly through our launch process. If we are unable to license the requested font, we will look first to the artist's suggested replacement to use as a substitution, since this is what the artist feels would most closely match their design intent. If a suggested replacement is not available, this can slow down our launch process for your design as we work with you to find a swap.
- Including a suggested swap helps us better match your vision for your design. It's important to us that you have a say in what your final design looks like. If you don't suggest a swap, we may not be able to match your design vision as closely.
As shown below, there is a font artboard included in the submission file templates where this font information should be included. Please include the following information:
- The name of the non-Minted font(s) used in your design
- A link to where the font(s) was purchased
- Your preferred Minted font replacement(s), if needed
Our Minted Font List includes a Cannot License tab. This list includes fonts that Minted has already determined are not eligible to be licensed. These fonts CANNOT be used in any form on Minted products, including personalizable and outlined text. This is a great resource to check before using a non-Minted font.
