In the DFA Marketplace, we are now allowing folks to sell Limited Edition Prints. You may sell prints in edition counts up to 10.
For an artwork to be classified as a Limited Edition, it should have a limited quantity of prints that can be sold, as implied by its name. For instance, if you opt to sell only 8 prints as a limited run, once these 8 prints are sold, the limited edition will no longer be available, and you won't be allowed to sell any more copies. The limitation of the number of prints contributes to the artwork's exclusivity and enhances its worth. Please note: Prints available as existing Limited Edition Prints (either Minted Challenge Winners or Self Launched) are not eligible to be offered on DFA.
When a print from a Limited Edition is sold, it is essential to include a Certificate of Authenticity inside the package that will be delivered to the collector who purchased the piece. It needs to be placed inside the box along with the artwork.
Common Questions:
- Why do I need to complete a Certificate of Authenticity? A Certificate of Authenticity is a legal document that verifies that the artwork is authentic (ie - made by you!) and the nature of the edition set it is a part of. Minted is required to send a certificate with the sale of each limited edition work of art.
- Can I use my own certificate template instead of the one Minted has provided? You are welcome to use your own certificate template as long as it covers the same basic information. The template is intended as a tool for artists who may not have their own certificates.
Minted is happy to provide you with a Certificate of Authenticity template to complete and ship alongside your Limited Edition Artwork. Please see below a step by step guide on how to use this tool:
