For almost all of our Minted Challenges, we hold a critique period. Once submissions close, there’s typically a 24 hour period (with the exception of some Art and Holiday Challenges) during which artists can offer and receive feedback on their work before voting opens. During the critique period, you can edits and refine your existing submissions; however, you cannot upload completely new designs to replace a "placeholder" submission. We now have a process to identify artists who have uploaded completely new designs to replace a "placeholder" submission during the Critique Period. If that happens, the entry will be disqualified.
Here at Minted, we honor constructive feedback. The critique period is a time you can help fellow artists improve their work. It’s also a place where artists who have been going back and forth with colors, fonts, etc. can receive feedback from the Minted community to help inform their creative process and improve their output. There are many ways to generate quality critiques on your designs, depending on the type of feedback you're hoping to receive. This article provides info about how to give and receive feedback within the Minted Community, and this Julep blog post contains tips and suggested prompts stationery designs. If you're submitting to one of our Art Challenges, check out this expert advice from a Parsons School of Design professor in this Julep blog post: 7 Ways to Master Art and Design Critiques.
To celebrate extraordinary community spirit and constructive feedback, we give out a Critique Award for each challenge. We hope you join in the community spirit, and give feedback to fellow Minted artists!
