We've found that Minted customers form deeper connections with artworks they know more about. The Art Print Statement is your opportunity to share more about your piece: how you made it, what inspired you, and why it’s special. Your Art Print Statement will appear on the product page when shopping your artwork, so be sure to craft a memorable message that sets your piece apart.
Where do I submit my Art Print Statement?
Art Print Statements should be added on the “Design Information” page under “Art Print Statement” during the Challenge submission process.
You can also add or make edits to your Art Print Statement when uploading your final art files in your My Projects page. If your files required additional scaling work by our team to launch, you will also have the opportunity to add or make edits once your project is in Designer Review.
What Should I Write?
Aim to write 3–5 complete sentences for each submission (the more descriptive, the better!). The following information is helpful to include when thinking about the statement you’d like to make with your piece:
- A description of the piece (colors, medium, theme, etc.)
- Your process for creating the piece
- What inspired you
- Any other interesting or helpful details you'd like to include
Examples
Here are a few examples that we think described the artwork in a way that will resonate with customers:
Elliot Stokes, Snake Plant
Created using relief block printing, flowers and houseplant imagery served as my inspiration in creating this piece. The resilient Snake Plant, or Sansevieria, is featured, housed in a planter that is set on a stool. The diagonal geometry of the plant pot looks to contrast the up-and-down lines in both the plant's leaves and the legs of the stool.
Mary Gaspar, Water Lotus
This abstract botanical painting incorporates sweeping petal-like strokes of earthy color, punctuated with pops of rich jewel tones. The movement in this piece creates a sort of tension, pulling the shapes apart so that they appear to be flying or floating on water. The lotus is a deeply meaningful flower, representing spiritual enlightenment and rebirth.
