Price your product as you see fit. We suggest looking at similar items in the market to price your product. Please note that list prices cannot exceed other publicly available prices for the same product.
ORIGINAL ART:
Pricing your original art appropriately is an important part of uploading your artwork to the DFA Marketplace. Using consistent methods of pricing can be helpful.
If you are new to pricing your artwork, or need to adjust your artwork’s pricing, we would suggest considering the following methods:
- Price your art based on comparables. Find other artists with similar experience and who work in similar methods and use their prices as a guide. Ensure you consider factors like dimensions, medium, materials, and whether or not the art has sold.
- Price your art based on a formula, for example:
- Option A: Retail: Multiple the cost of the materials by 2
- Option B: Time, Labor, & Cost of Materials: Multiply the time it took to make the art, hourly wage, and the cost of materials.
For flat works (paintings, mixed media, drawings), price your art at or above Minted’s suggested DFA floor prices below:
Paper | Canvas/ Wood | |||
Scale (Flat Works) | Unframed | Framed | Unframed | Framed |
Small | $50 | $100 | $150 | $250 |
Medium | $200 | $350 | $400 | $500 |
Large - Extra Large | $350 | $500 | $600 | $900 |
The prices of your products are yours to set, so please use the methods above only as a guide. You are always welcome to adjust the prices of your products on Mirakl before they sell. Once products have sold, you cannot edit the price any further. Please see this section on “Managing Offers” for more information on how to edit your prices.
