Can I use typefaces that aren't on the Minted Font List to submit to challenges?

Follow

Yes! We look to the community to help us find fresh new fonts, and we purchase new fonts on a weekly basis based on your recommendations. If you have a vision for an amazing design that uses a font which is not on the Minted Font List feel free to use it in your submission.

If we cannot add a font you have used, we may need to contact you and ask you to rework the design, or we may suggest a replacement typeface that preserves the look & feel.

IMPORTANT: We ask that you carefully note all fonts that aren't currently on the Minted Font List when submitting your final files (there is a place for you to enter this in the crowd-launch process). Please also suggest an alternate font(s) that you would be comfortable with us using in case we are not able to obtain the proper license for you.

Please note that fonts from the following foundries are impossible or very difficult to get the licensing we need for editable text on Minted:

Hoefler & Frere-Jones

Lost Type Co-Op

Font Diner

Tart Workshop

Emily Lime

Fonts on Dafont.com (and many other free font sites)

Fonts from the following foundries are prohibitively expensive

(but we may make an exception for a rare splurge)

Great Lakes Lettering
